Michael Obafemi has lifted the lid on his relationship with Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Speaking to Sky Sports’ YouTube channel, the 19-year-old was asked about how he communicates with the Austrian following the recent comments he made about the striker’s professionalism.
Obafemi was quick to praise how Hasenhuttl has managed him since his appointment last year and insisted that he has a strong relationship with the boss.

The Republic of Ireland international said:
We have a good relationship. He talks to me often, we sit down and have conversations about what I should be doing and how I should be doing things in my life.
It’s a big booster. [He] sets me challenges, so I’m thankful for it.

Hasenhuttl has a good reputation for developing and nurturing young players, so it’s positive to note that Obafemi is taking feedback from his boss constructively.
The young forward has had a handful of chances already in the first half of the season, and he has shown some promising signs.
A partnership of Danny Ings and Shane Long has been preferred of late, but Obafemi still has his best years ahead of him, and he’ll fancy his chances of featuring throughout the remainder of the campaign.
