Southampton linked with QPR star Ebere Eze

Southampton are reportedly interested in signing Queens Park Rangers star Ebere Eze in the January transfer window.

According to exclusive claims from Football League World, Saints have set their sights on a deal for the 21-year-old, who has been in fine form for his side this season.

From his 12 outings in the Championship so far this term, he has found the back of the net on six occasions, contributing from wide attacking roles on both the right and left-hand side.

Eze most recently helped secure a 3-2 win away at Hull City, as his brace sent Mark Warburton’s side back to London with three points to show for their efforts.

Southampton appear to have kept a close eye on QPR this season, with reports of their interest in the attacker following claims earlier in the month that left-back Ryan Manning is a target for January.

Eze is among the most exciting players in the Championship at the moment, and he is surely destined to play Premier League football before too long.

For some time now, the 21-year-old has proven to be one of QPR’s most integral assets and has turned in a number of exciting displays for his side.

Eze has helped the club to fifth place in the Championship, priming Warburton’s side for an unlikely push for the play-offs this season.

As such, luring him away from Loftus Road midway through the campaign would likely be a tall order, casting doubt over any big-money move from Southampton or any other Premier League club.

Nevertheless, it’s encouraging to note that Saints appear to be looking in the right places for talent if their interest in Eze is indeed genuine.
