Southampton have been linked with a January move to sign Ryan Manning from Queens Park Rangers.
Saints, as per a report from Football Insider, are understood to have kept tabs on the Irishman throughout the opening exchanges of the new season and are contemplating a swoop in the New Year.
Manning has been a mainstay in Mark Warburton’s team this term, operating on the left-hand side of the defence.
Southampton are currently sat in 17th place on the Premier League table and find themselves above Everton in the relegation zone only by the number of goals they have scored.
As such, it seems Ralph Hasenhuttl is keen to add to his squad in the January transfer window, with QPR defender Manning a player who is apparently on the Austrian’s radar.
The former Galway United youngster sees his contract at Loftus Road expire at the end of the season, but the London club have an option to extend his stay by a further year.
