Last week, it was claimed that Southampton are keeping a close eye on KAA Gent striker Jonathan David.
Saints added to their attacking options with the acquisitions of Moussa Djenepo and Che Adams in the summer, but it seems they are still running the rule over other possible transfer targets.
David is a player who has earned plaudits for his displays in the top flight of Belgian football, but also for his showings at an international level with Canada. His impressive form for his club has propelled him to a regular starting spot for his national team.
Whether or not Southampton will move for another forward in the January transfer window remains to be seen, but the 19-year-old is certainly one to keep an eye on.
So, just who is Jonathan David, what’s he good at, and how would he fit in at St Mary’s if he were to arrive?
We’ve taken a closer look at the apparent Southampton target.
