Southampton revive their interest in Celtic’s Olivier Ntcham

Southampton have revived their interest in Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham is has been revealed in an exclusive report by 90min.

The Saints, however, are joined in their pursuit of the 24-year-old by Premier League rivals Everton and West Ham.

Ntcham played 23 times in during Celtic’s Scottish Premiership winning campaign last term, scoring four times and getting two assists.

It seems now as though the Frenchman could be about to make a return to English football, after he left Manchester City for the Scottish champions in 2017, following a two-year loan spell in Italy with Serie A club Genoa.

Southampton boss Ralph Hassenhutl has seemingly reignited his interest in the midfielder as he looks to strengthen his squad at St Mary’s after the departure of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Tottenham last week.

With two years left on his contract at Parkhead, it is unlikely any deal will be done on the cheap, with the Hoops’ wanting somewhere in the region of £20m before they consider accepting an offer.

There is certainly space in the Saints squad for Ntcham who could return to English football with a point to prove. The France Under 21 international never made an appearance during his time at the Etihad, where he spent five years coming through the academy ranks.
