Premier League side Southampton and promotion-chasing Leeds United have both made contact with Paris Saint-Germain defender Thierno Balde, according to a report from L’Équipe, as cited by Get French Football News.
PSG have offered the 17-year-old his first professional contract but he’s yet to sign it and as such, Leeds, Southampton and St Etienne have all made contact with his representatives to see if he would be interested in moving to their respective clubs.
Balde has worked his way through the ranks at PSG and made the step up to the club’s U19 team last season when Tanguy Kouassi was called up to the first-team and it appears that he made a good impression, with four clubs hoping to sign him to a professional deal.

Balde is clearly well thought of at PSG as they seem keen to keep him at the club, which suggests that Saints’ scouts have identified a very good player.
It looks like the French champions are keen to keep the teenager though, so it remains to be seen if Saints or Leeds will be able to tempt him to make a switch to England this summer.
