Southampton have been linked with a move for Porto centre-back Diogo Leite this week.
According to O’Jogo, as translated by Sport Witness, Southampton are one of the teams keen on landing the youngster when the transfer window opens.

PROFILE
Diogo Leite is a 21-year-old centre-back who stands at 6ft 3.
He currently plays for Porto in the Primeira Liga and wears the number four shirt.
CLUB CAREER SO FAR
Leite began his youth career with Leixoes before signing for Porto in 2008, aged nine. He then made his Porto B debut in 2017 and played 45 league games for the reserve side.
The centre-back made his senior debut for Porto in August 2018 against Chaves and has since gone on to make 19 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese giants.
INTERNATIONAL CAREER SO FAR
Leite has enjoyed a long and fruitful youth career with Portgual to date. He made his debut for Portugal at U16 level in 2014 and has represented his country at a whopping six different age groups, amassing an incredible 55 appearances and one goal.
He also won the UEFA U17 European Championships with Portugal in 2016, as well as being named in the Team of the Tournament for his performances at centre-back.

The report claims that he has a €40m release clause in his Porto contract, which runs through till the summer of 2023. Feyenoord, Sevilla, Besiktas, Ajax, Bordeaux, Valencia and Borussia Monchengladbach are also interested in signing the defender, providing competition for Southampton when the window opens for business.
