A number of Southampton fans have reacted to the club mocking Norwich on Saturday, as their Premier League match was cancelled.
With their match suspended, Southampton’s Twitter account challenged Norwich to a game of naughts and crosses. Norwich, however, failed to respond and this led to Southampton mocking the Canaries for “time-wasting” as they awaited their move.
Instead, Manchester City’s social media team came in and took over from Norwich. Southampton and Man City then played out the rest of the game, which ended in a draw.
The Premier League has been suspended until 4th April and Southampton have taken it upon themselves to find other ways to compete. The day after the naughts and crosses match, Southampton and Norwich’s ESports FIFA players faced off against each other in a game – with Southampton’s player winning the game 3-2 in a tense encounter.
These Southampton fans reacted to the tweet, enjoying the banter from the club.
