A number of Southampton fans have reacted to the club releasing their financial update for the year ending June 30th 2019.

Some Saints fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news as the club have announced a loss of £39.3m for the year.

BBC Radio Solent confirm the news and reveal that it is a drop of almost £75m from the previous financial year for the club.

This comes after Southampton spent £56m on signings throughout the 2018/19 season, as well as bringing in manager Ralph Hasenhuttl to replace Mark Hughes midway through the campaign. They also brought in £21m in sales, meaning that they had a net spend of £35m.

Southampton spent big on Stuart Armstrong, Jannik Vestergaard, Angus Gunn and Mo Elyounoussi, as well as signing Danny Ings on loan from Liverpool.
