A number of Southampton fans have reacted to the club’s managing director Toby Steele rejecting speculation of an imminent sale.
Some Saints fans have taken to Twitter to react to his comments, frustrated by the update.
Steele said to BBC Solent that, as far as the directors are concerned, the club is not for sale. He does also add, however, that most owners are likely to be open to a sale at the right price.
This comes after The Times reported earlier this month that owner Gao Jisheng had paid a broker to find a buyer for the club as he looks to sell Southampton. The report claimed that the club had been priced at around £250m, with the broker attempting to find a buyer for that price.
Gao Jisheng bought a controlling stake in the club almost three years ago, in August 2017, and has overseen 17th and 16th place finishes in the Premier League in his two seasons so far.
These Southampton fans reacted to the update.
