A number of Southampton fans have reacted to manager Ralph Hasenhuttl’s comments following the defeat to Newcastle at the weekend.
Some Saints fans have taken to Twitter to react to his comments after he hailed the atmosphere and his players’ efforts against Steve Bruce’s side.
Hasenhuttl says that the supporters were unbelievable in the stands and that he could not ask for much more from his players on the pitch. He says that it was just one silly mistake, from Yan Valery, that cost them in the end.
Valery attempted to bring the ball down facing his own goal, but was tackled by Allan Saint-Maximin – who then raced through and scored the winning goal for Newcastle.
Southampton have now lost five of their last six matches in all competitions and are still yet to hit 36 points in the Premier League.
