A number of fans have reacted to a post from the club following their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle.
Some fans have taken to Twitter to mock the club after they posted a clip from the game on Saturday.
Southampton posted a clip of Alex McCarthy making an incredible triple save from Dwight Gayle and Miguel Almiron with the caption “Never give up” attached to it.
The Saints lost the game 1-0, with Allan Saint-Maximin scoring the only goal of the game in the second half. Yan Valery gave the ball away in his own half, with Saint-Maximin then racing clear on goal and slotting the ball into the bottom corner.
This was Southampton’s fifth defeat in six games in all competitions and Moussa Djenepo was given a straight red card to compile misery on the Saints over the weekend.
Fans, including rival supporters, have come together to mock the Saints for their post and the caption that they used.
