A number of Southampton fans have reacted to Yan Valery’s performance against Newcastle over the weekend.
Some Saints supporters have taken to Twitter to blast Valery after he made a mistake leading to the only goal of the game.
Valery attempted to bring the ball down on his chest whilst facing his own goal, but allowed Allan Saint-Maximin to sneak in ahead of him and win the ball back. His fellow countryman then raced into the box and slotted the ball into the bottom corner, winning the game for Newcastle.
It was Valery’s first appearance for the club since the 2-1 win over Watford back in November, with Kyle Walker-Peters left on the bench and James Ward-Prowse moved back into midfield.
The French fullback was unable to impress Southampton fans on his return, though, after making the error.
These Southampton fans reacted to his performance and were frustrated by what they saw.
