A number of Southampton fans have reacted to a post from the club showing a goal scored by Shane Long against Newcastle in 2016.
Some Saints fans have taken to Instagram to praise Long and urge him to do the same against the Toon this weekend.
Southampton host Newcastle at St. Mary’s on Saturday as they look to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat to West Ham last weekend. The Saints were smashed by the Hammers in their last Premier League outing and Ralph Hasenhuttl will be wanting a reaction from his side.
Long, who has been a regular starter this year, opened the scoring in this fixture in 2016. He danced past a number of tackles before finding the back of the net en route to a 3-1 win for Ronald Koeman’s side that season.
