A number of Southampton fans have questioned manager Ralph Hasenhuttl after some interesting substitutions during the defeat to West Ham at the weekend.
Some Southampton supporters have been left miffed as to why Hasenhuttl opted to bring on Oriol Romeu and Jannik Vestergaard, two defensive players, whilst his side were losing 3-1 to the Hammers.
Jarrod Bowen, Sebastien Haller and Michail Antonio scored the goals for West Ham, with Southampton unable to push for a comeback late on. Saints created very little, especially in the closing exchanges, and failed to test Fabianski in the West Ham goal in the second half.
The result leaves Southampton 13th in the Premier League table and eight points off the top six, with 10 games left to play. This means that any ambitions for a European push may need to be put on hold unless they can string some results together in the very near future.
