A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to name their man of the match from the win over Aston Villa at the weekend.

Southampton bounced back from their defeat to Burnley by beating Aston Villa 2-0 at St. Mary’s, keeping their position of 12th in the Premier League table.

Irish forward Shane Long opened the scoring in the first half. Moussa Djenepo produced a sublime outside of the foot cross from the left and Shane Long bundled the ball past Pepe Reina at the near post for his third goal of the campaign.

Stuart Armstrong then sealed the three points in stoppage time. Reina had come up for a Villa corner and was left stranded as Armstrong was played through by Che Adams and rolled the ball into an empty net from 25-yards.

After the game, these Southampton fans picked out who they thought the club’s standout star was.
