A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to commend Che Adams for his excellent assist against Villa on the weekend.
Southampton beat Aston Villa 2-0 at St. Mary’s, with Shane Long and Stuart Armstrong scoring the goals. Long opened the scoring in the first half as he bundled the ball in from close range after a good cross from Moussa Djenepo on the left.
The Saints then found their second in stoppage time at the end of the game. Villa goalkeeper Pepe Reina raced out of his goal to come up for a corner and left his goal exposed.
Southampton cleared the set-piece up to substitute Che Adams near the half-way line, with the forward turning and playing an incredible raking pass out to Armstrong who slid the ball into an empty net.
These Southampton fans reacted to Adams’ contribution off the bench, with many clearly delighted with his assist.
