A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to mock the club following a post about the players in training this week.
Southampton’s official Twitter account posted several images of the players in training, with the caption “New week. Same focus”, only to have some fans mock them.
This comes after the Saints lost 2-1 to Burnley in the Premier League last weekend, extending their winless run to four games.
Ashley Westwood scored directly from a corner and Matej Vydra smashed home a winner in the 60th minute as Southampton failed to pick up the three points in front of the home crowd at St. Mary’s.
Despite losing to Sean Dyche’s Burnley, Southampton actually moved up the Premier League table. The Saints are now 12th in the league, due to Newcastle’s 4-0 loss to Arsenal sending them above the Toon Army on goal difference.
