Southampton fans react to Milot Rashica links

Southampton have been linked with a summer swoop for Werder Bremen forward Milot Rashica this week.

According to German outlet Weser Kurier, the Saints, along with Leipzig, Liverpool and Roma are all interested in the winger, who is said to have a release clause of €38m.

Although, Werder Bremen are reportedly looking for a fee in excess of £22m for the winger.

This season, Rashica has scored seven times and provided three assists in 18 games for Bremen in the Bundesliga, whilst also managing to score three goals in three games in the German Cup.

The report also claims that Southampton could be used as a stepping stone by Rashica.

He could reportedly sign for the Saints and look to develop on the south coast before then looking to join a club of Liverpool’s stature, as many players – Sadio Mane, Virgil Van Dijk, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne – have done in the past.

These Southampton fans reacted with mixed opinions to the news on Facebook

Dan Coombs: “You lost me at £22m. We don’t have the players to sell to raise that kind of cash.”

Maarc Smiiffy: “Why another winger? I think we all know there are other positions that need to be prioritised.”

Jennifer Howard: “If Liverpool are interested we’ve got no chance.”

Jacob Lillywhite: “Very good player. Rachica from Werder Bremen. £22m for him is an absolute bargain.”

Andy Batchelor: “A good player and such a player we should be looking at and go get him please.”

Ray Newman: “we prob play him at right back.”

Cheryl Flowers: “I’m of the opinion we need a decent defender!”
