Southampton were dealt a blow during their clash with Burnley at the weekend as Sofiane Boufal was forced to limp off the pitch with an injury.

Boufal left the pitch with the score at 1-1, having played a hand in Danny Ings’ equaliser. The winger drove in from the left to initiate the attack leading to Ings’ superb strike from distance to make it 1-1.

Ralph Hasenhuttl brought on forward Moussa Djenepo to replace Boufal, but he struggled to make an impact for the Saints. Djenepo completed one key pass and one dribble in 51 minutes, whilst being dispossessed twice and failing to manage a single shot.

This extended his run of games without a goal or an assist in the Premier League to nine. His last contribution was an assist for Ings in the 2-1 win over Watford at the end of November.

These Southampton fans reacted to his performance, with many unhappy.
