Southampton were left to rue a costly early error as they lost 2-1 to Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
Burnley took the lead in the opening few minutes as a corner from Ashley Westwood was inexplicably left by Danny Ings at the near post and went straight into Alex McCarthy’s goal.
Ings did somewhat atone for his error as he levelled the scores with an excellent strike from range, finding the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Matej Vydra then scored the winner for the Clarets in the 60th minute to seal the three points for the away side.
The match also saw a debut for right-back Kyle Walker-Peters, who joined the club on loan from Tottenham last month.
Walker-Peters played 73 minutes before being replaced by Michael Obafemi as Southampton chased an equaliser late on.
These Southampton fans reacted to his debut performance, believing that he showed signs of promise…
