Southampton predicted XI: Burnley (H)

Southampton return to action after a 10-day winter break when they host Burnley on Saturday lunchtime.

Despite losing their last two matches before the break, to Liverpool in the league and Spurs in the FA Cup, Ralph Hasenhuttl would’ve taken a lot of pride from the performances in those games and he will hope that his side can retain the positive momentum at St Mary’s.

After Saints exited the FA Cup via a cruel 3-2 defeat in north London, all focus turns to the Premier League as the side look to finish as high as possible in the table.

This game against Burnley kick-starts a set of kinder fixtures, on paper, for Southampton and Hasenhuttl will see this period as an opportunity to put some more points on the board.

Sean Dyche’s side have had a slightly longer period without competitive action with their last match being in a 0-0 draw against Arsenal just under a fortnight ago.

Hasenhuttl’s pre-match press conference was a positive one on the injury front with James Ward-Prowse a possibility to feature despite being stretchered off in thee last match against Spurs.

Here’s how we predict Southampton will line up:
