Former Southampton star Adam Lallana is being tipped to make a return to St. Mary’s in the summer by former Tottenham forward Darren Bent.
Lallana’s contract at Liverpool expires at the end of the season and he is set to become a free agent in the summer, with Arsenal and Spurs reportedly two of the clubs interested in the former England international.
Bent says that Southampton would be the perfect club for Lallana to join and play regular football to reignite his career. Lallana has only started three games for Liverpool in the Premier League this season, with a further 10 appearances off the bench.
In those games, Lallana has produced one goal and one assist – with his goal coming in a 1-1 draw against Manchester United. Lallana will be 32 by the end of the season and has only managed one goal in his last three Premier League campaigns for Liverpool.
These Southampton fans reacted to his comments, less than enthused by the idea of him coming back to the club at the end of the season…
