Southampton are on track to avoid relegation from the Premier League and retain their top-flight status for another season.
The Saints are currently on 31 points with 13 games left to play and are a comfortable seven points clear of the bottom three, whilst they are also only outside of the top 10 on goal difference.
This means that Southampton can soon start to think about planning for next season, once relegation is completely off the cards, and looking ahead to what they can achieve under Ralph Hasenhuttl.
If Southampton can rally for a top 10 finish this term, could a European push be a realistic ambition for the 2020/21 campaign? In order to climb up the Premier League table, the club could need to invest in the squad over the summer and give Hasenhuttl money to play with.
