Southampton currently sit 13th in the Premier League table and are six points off of the top six.
The Saints, however, have only won one of their last five matches in all competitions, having won five of the previous six before that. Southampton have lost to Wolves, Tottenham and Liverpool in their last five, whilst also beating Crystal Palace away from home.
Considering that Southampton were in the bottom three heading into December, it is impressive that they now sit comfortably in midtable just two months later. Ralph Hasenhuttl has turned things around at St. Mary’s and the club can now start to look at finishing in the top 10, rather than worrying about the bottom three and a potential relegation to the Championship.
Hasenhuttl’s side now face three games against teams in the bottom half throughout February, as they host Burnley and Aston Villa before heading away to West Ham.
