Southampton were knocked out of the FA Cup on Wednesday night as they lost 3-2 to Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham away from home.
The Saints held Spurs to a 1-1 draw at St. Mary’s to force the replay, but were unable to make the most of their second chance at progressing through to the next round.
An own-goal from Jack Stephens put Spurs in front early on, before goals from Shane Long and Danny Ings either side of half-time had Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side closing in on the fifth round.
However, Lucas Moura and Heung-Min Son scored in the last 15 minutes to turn the game around for Tottenham and see them secure the win that will see them play Norwich next month.
Despie the loss, one player who stood out for Southampton was winger Nathan Redmond, who set up Ings for the second Saints goal. The forward sprinted past several Spurs defenders before playing the ball to Ings to score.
These Southampton fans praised Redmond for his performance…
