Southampton were left ruing what could have been after losing 3-2 to Tottenham in the FA Cup on Wednesday night.
The Saints were leading 2-1 heading into the final 15 minutes of the match, only to end up being knocked out of the competition.
Lucas Moura opened up the Southampton defence with clever movement before burying the ball into the bottom corner to level the scores in the 78th minute.
Then, with three minutes left of normal time, Heung-Min Son broke into the box and pushed the ball past Angus Gunn before falling to the floor – with the referee pointing to the spot.
However, replays suggested that Gunn got a touch on the ball with his foot and that Son was already on his way down when Gunn’s hand brushed his side. VAR opted against overturning the decision, with Son stepping up from the spot and sealing Spurs’ place in the next round.
These Southampton fans have been reacting to the penalty decision and they were not happy.
