Southampton officially confirmed on deadline day that midfielder Callum Slattery had been loaned out to Dutch side De Graafschap until the end of the season.
Slattery has joined De Graafschap on loan for the next five months as he goes in search of regular first-team football in the Netherlands.
De Graafschap play in the second tier of Dutch football, with the loan being an opportunity for Slattery to experience playing in a foreign league to hone and develop his skills.
The 20-year-old made five first-team appearances for Southampton last season under Ralph Hasenhuttl, but failed to kick-on this term and was unable to play a single minute of senior action.
He is a current England under-20 international and has been capped six times by his country at that age bracket, having also been capped nine times at younger levels earlier in his career.
