Southampton rule out Che Adams sale following Ralph Hasenhuttl orders

Southampton will not be parting ways with Leeds United target Che Adams this month.

That’s according to the Daily Express, who have exclusively revealed that following Ralph Hasenhuttl’s orders, now look set to keep the 23-year-old at the club.

Recent reports claimed that Leeds, the Southampton board and the player himself were all open to an Elland Road switch, which would’ve seen Adams move to Yorkshire on an initial loan move with an obligation to buy in the summer.

However, Hasenhuttl was desperate to keep the £15 million man, and it seems as if the Austrian has got his way.

From Southampton’s point of view, this can only come as a major boost, in our eyes.

Selling Adams against Hasenhuttl’s apparent wishes could’ve caused a real backlash at St Mary’s, especially with the club in such a good run of form in the Premier League.

The Saints have picked up 13 points during the last five matchdays, the joint-most in the division.

Adams has featured in all but one of those fixtures, and selling the former Birmingham man would’ve left Hasenhuttl with just Danny Ings and Shane Long as the remaining senior strike options.

Two forwards for the rest of the season, in our opinion, would’ve been a huge risk to take, so we’re happy to see that the club have seemingly backed Hasenhuttl by keeping Adams on the south coast.
