Southampton set to make £8.5m Salisu bid
Southampton are set to make an £8.5m bid for Real Valladolid centre-back Mohammed Salisu this month.
According to Pucela Fichajes, via HITC, Southampton are preparing to make an official offer for the defender as they look to bolster their squad in the window.
The report does claim that he has a £10m release clause in his contract, with Southampton trying to save £1.5m in their bid.

Salisu has impressed in La Liga this season and has plenty of potential at the age of just 20. He would be one for the future, whilst also possibly improving the current squad. For a fee of £8.5m, he could be a very smart signing by the club, as it is not an outrageous amount of money and he could have plenty of resale value in the future.
Southampton have conceded far too many goals in the Premier League this season, so a centre-back could go a long way to ensuring their survival. The Saints have improved in the last five to six weeks, but adding more quality to the squad should help to make sure that it is more than just a blip in form.
