Southampton made it three games unbeaten over the Christmas period after coming from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Crystal Palace.
Palace had a goal disallowed after 15 minutes when Max Meyer’s finish was chalked off by VAR due to Wilfried Zaha being offside in the buildup.
The first-half was full of grit and guile with little niggling moments occurring between the sides throughout but lacked the quality to break the deadlock.
The visitors did take the lead soon after the break courtesy of James Tomkins who headed home a Luka Milivojevic free-kick.
Saints got the equaliser through Danny Ings as he capitalised on a defensive howler from Palace to slot the ball into the back of the net.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side were improving and pushing for the winner with Moussa Djenepo, James Ward-Prowse and Ings all being denied by Vicente Guaita.
This point makes it seven from three matches in the past week which leaves the side in 15th place in the Premier League, four points clear of the relegation zone.
