Southampton lost for the second week in a row as West Ham United came away from St Mary’s with a 1-0 victory.
Sebastien Haller’s first-half strike was enough to prove decisive on Saturday evening, with the visitors somewhat easing the pressure on under-fire manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Declan Rice and Michail Antonio had goals for the Hammers disallowed on the night, while Danny Ings also saw a thunderous effort from range ruled out.
It was a cagey affair between two teams near the foot-end of the table, but West Ham were able to lift themselves further from the clutches of the relegation zone with their triumph at St Mary’s.
Again, several key players failed to impress for Southampton, with only a select few influencing the match positively.
So, who has moved up and who has moved down in our Saints Power Rankings after Gameweek 17? Here are our top five performers of the season.
