Southampton succumbed to a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to West Ham United on Saturday evening.
Following a 2-1 loss at the hands of Newcastle United a week before, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men had hoped to pick up where they left off on home soil having previously achieved back-to-back wins at St Mary’s.
However, West Ham were able to rescue Manuel Pellegrini’s job for at least another week as they came away with a victory at the weekend.
In what was largely a drab affair, the Hammers scored a decisive goal in the first half as Sebastien Haller scuffed the ball beyond Alex McCarthy and into the bottom right corner to send the Hammers home with a 1-0 win for their efforts.
The result keeps Saints in the bottom three, with their upcoming clash against Aston Villa set to be of immense importance in the race for survival.
Here are Four Findings from the loss.
