Southampton have reportedly firmed up their interest in Jean-Clair Todibo by making an offer to sign the defender in January.
According to the printed edition of Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, as translated by Sport Witness, Saints are among five clubs who have already made proposals to recruit the Barcelona centre-back.
Todibo’s future with the La Liga giants is currently uncertain, and it is reported that Southampton, Watford, AC Milan, AS Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen have taken their respective interests one step further by making offers.

Barcelona would apparently be prepared to offload the 19-year-old for just €10 million, but they would demand a buy-back clause in any deal.

Todibo is clearly going to have more attractive destinations than Southampton to choose from, but he’d be an excellent signing for the club.
At the quoted figure of just €10 million, it would be a steal for most sides in world football, not least one that is crying out for added defensive quality.
Saints’ 1-0 loss to West Ham on Saturday night only further reinforced just how pressing the need for fresh faces is in January, and Todibo would be a smart addition.
