Ralph Hasenhuttl has been discussing Kevin Danso’s time at Southampton so far, and the boss revealed to The Daily Echo that the Austrian has been nursing a minor knee problem.
The defender was absent from Saints’ 18-man squad for the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United last weekend, with the boss since confirming that the youngster has been working his way back to full fitness.
Hasenhuttl said:
Last game he had problems with his knees, so he wasn’t in the squad. This week he could train and hopefully he stays fit.
Danso will be hoping to return to the matchday squad for Southampton’s vital fixture against West Ham United this evening.

Danso has found himself in and out of the squad throughout the first half of the season, and it appears as though he and Jannik Vestergaard are taking it in turns to feature on the bench.
The young Austrian is probably within his rights to feel a little hard done by this term; when he has played in his natural position, he has looked assured and dependable.
However, he has been largely used in the unfamiliar role of full-back, and as such, he has clearly fallen out of favour.
