One of the most controversial decisions Ralph Hasenhuttl has to make for this weekend’s clash with Everton is who he picked between the sticks.

Angus Gunn has been the number one for the majority of this season so far, but Alex McCarthy has started the last two matches for Southampton.

Ahead of the game against Everton, we asked Southampton fans who they want to start…

You can make a case for both goalkeepers, but I would personally go with Gunn. He is still a young goalkeeper and having two games out of the side is sure to have motivated to come back and be fully focussed on getting back to his best.

His errors came from poor judgement, in that he came out too quickly or when he did not need to. Hopefully, he has taken the last couple of weeks to analyse where he went wrong and learn from it. McCarthy is by no means the perfect goalkeeper and it was his error which handed Manchester City the win last weekend, although he is the more experienced of the two goalkeepers, which may play into his favour.
