Southampton’s quest for a first home win of the season continues when they host Leicester City on Friday Night Football.
Saints are one of only two sides, the other being Watford, yet to record a home victory in the Premier League, with both wins coming away at Sheffield United and Brighton.
It must be said that three of their four games at St Mary’s have come against ‘big six’ sides; the 3-1 loss to Bournemouth is perhaps the only one with which Saints will be really disappointed.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side did halt their run of three straight league defeats with a 1-1 draw at Wolves last time out and will now hope to build on that.
Friday’s game won’t be an easy one, either, with Brendan Rodgers’ side currently sitting in third place after their 2-1 win against Burnley last time out.
The team selection will be another hard one to predict with the gaffer alternating between formations and personnel on a fairly regular basis.
The draw with Wolves saw a return to the 5-3-2 system that was used for a large part of last season and the positive result could see the manager stick with it for this weekend.
Hasenhuttl confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Cedric Soares and Moussa Djenepo remain the only absentees.
Here’s how we predict Saints to line up.
