Dusan Tadic and Jose Fonte were two vital components of the Southampton side that made history in 2015/16.
Both players had integral roles under Ronald Koeman as the club secured a sixth-place finish on the Premier League table, and in turn, Europa League football for the next campaign.
Tadic left the club for a move to Ajax in 2018, and Fonte left in January 2017 for West Ham, before arriving at LOSC Lille via a brief spell in China with Dalian Yifang.
The pair reunited on the pitch on Tuesday night as Ajax welcomed Lille in the Champions League group stage.

Both players captained their respective sides, and it’s safe to say that plenty of Saints fans got a little misty-eyed at the sight of them together again…

Read Southampton’s verdict
The timing of both these players’ departures from St Mary’s was unfortunate, but it’s good to see that they’re both now playing at the very top of the game.
Tadic’s resurgence at Ajax has been quite incredible, while Fonte has quietly put less successful tenures at West Ham and Dalian Yifang behind him to emerge as a crucial player for Lille.
They both played massive parts in our success, and deserve to enjoy their time on the Champions League stage.
Although, Tadic definitely had a better night than Fonte on Tuesday, as the Serbian helped Ajax to a convincing 3-0 win over Lille…
