Che Adams has heaped praise on Moussa Djenepo following his match-winning performance against Sheffield United.
The winger danced past challenges to slot the ball home in front of the travelling Saints supporters to clinch his side’s third successive win on the road without conceding a goal.
Djenepo was Southampton’s first summer signing and arrived in a £14 million deal from Standard Liege. Adams, meanwhile, was the second man through the door and joined from Birmingham City for £15 million.
As quoted by The Daily Echo, the striker was quick to hail the 21-year-old’s showings and tipped him for plenty of success this season. He said:
He does it in training all the time. We know what he can bring and that’s why the manager brought him into a more attacking role.
From when he stepped in the door, you could see he has the ability and that’s why the club signed him.

It’s important if you’re an attacking player, you need to be able to cause opposing teams problems and he’s shown that.
I think he will be a massive player for us, he’s an attacking threat, and that’s what we need. He will help us in the league.

Although Djenepo has had a more substantial degree of success than Adams has in a Southampton shirt so far, both players are looking like shrewd buys.
Neither cost an excessive amount, and neither have started their tenures in the Premier League slowly by any means. The goals will come for Adams – he has come close on several occasions – and he’s certainly working hard for the team.
Djenepo has been a livewire since he walked through the door, and he’s already looking like one of the bargains of the season.
Southampton have been maligned for their failures in the transfer market in previous windows, but the recent summer’s work is looking promising, to say the very least…
