The winners and losers from Southampton’s international break

The international break has nearly ended, and as such, Southampton will be back in action this weekend.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side travel to Sheffield United as they aim to go three games unbeaten in the Premier League following a win against Brighton and Hove Albion and a draw against Manchester United.

The boss had the main bulk of his squad at Staplewood for the two-week period, with only six senior players heading out on international duty.

However, it has been a testing spell for some players, and positives and negatives can certainly be taken from their respective ventures.

Southampton have the chance to move up into the top half of the Premier League table if they can claim a positive result at Bramall Lane this weekend, but Sheffield United will provide a tough test.

Hasenhuttl will have been keeping a close eye on those who jetted off to represent their countries and an even closer one on the members of his squad who stayed behind.

So, who are the winners and losers of this month’s international break? Join us as we have a look.
