Nathan Redmond is still not fit and will miss Southampton’s trip to Sheffield United this weekend.
Ralph Hasenhuttl, as stated by the club’s official Twitter account, has claimed that the winger is making ‘good progress’ in his recovery, but remains sidelined.

Redmond suffered an ankle injury in Southampton’s 1-0 win over Fulham in the Carabao Cup second round last month, which saw him miss out as the team drew 1-1 with Manchester United in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old has had the international break to continue his recovery, but it seems the Sheffield United match comes a little too soon for him.

Redmond was hardly likely to be back in time for our trip to Bramall Lane, but his absence will undoubtedly be felt; he is, in my opinion, Southampton’s best player.
We didn’t look quite as threatening going forward without him against United, but still managed to claw back a point after going a goal down, which will provide Hasenhuttl with encouragement.
Redmond is a big miss, but when one door closes in football, another opens: Sofiane Boufal has another golden chance to stake his claim.

He had a solid first Premier League start this season against United before the international break and will be determined to nail down a place in the line-up with Redmond absent.
The Moroccan may not possess the same quality in front of goal as his counterpart, but his flair and technical ability will still provide Southampton with a dangerous attacking weapon this weekend.
