AS Monaco’s pursuit of Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina has been well documented in recent times, but according to claims from French outlet Soccer Link, the clubs have still not reached an agreement.

The midfielder wants to leave St Mary’s this summer, but with the European transfer window slamming shut next week, time is quickly running out for all parties involved.
Lemina has experience of playing Ligue 1 football following his tenure at Marseille, but it seems he is facing an anxious wait as Saints continue to hold all the cards in negotiations.
With talks seemingly at an impasse, the Gabon international’s future is uncertain.

Teams are still being linked with Lemina, which is positive. However, it was thought that he’d have found himself a club for the 2019/20 season by now, as the clock continues to wind down ahead of the European deadline.
Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim has set out to strengthen his midfield options, and as such, Lemina is clearly a target. However, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise if the Ligue 1 club walk away from the deal with Southampton as they continue to struggle for progress in talks.
I reckon Lemina will manage to secure his sought-after move away from Southampton before the window does close. However, it’s safe to say that he’d have to eat his fair share of humble pie if he ends up staying after his behaviour throughout the summer…
