Celtic have officially confirmed the signing of Fraser Forster on a season-long loan deal, and their timing was strange, to say the least.

The Hoops’ pursuit of the goalkeeper had been well documented, and on Thursday evening, his return was publicised.
News of his move to Celtic Park came as no surprise. However, it’s safe to say that an announcement wasn’t expected during the first half of the Hoops’ crucial Europa League play-off fixture against AIK!
Forster’s switch to Celtic is an exciting one for the Scottish champions, but these fans all had the same thoughts about the bizarre timing of the move…

Read Southampton’s verdict
Given the acclaim that this signing has brought in throughout the day, you’d have thought that Celtic would have chosen their moment a bit more wisely!
Either way, it’s good to see that this is a done deal and Forster can focus on getting back to his best. He’s 31-years-old now, and returning to familiar surroundings should really benefit him.
Hopefully, he can provide Celtic with a dominant presence between the sticks having left the club for Southampton back in 2014.
