Southampton find themselves in 19th place on the Premier League table after two defeats in as many games.

The Saints were beaten 3-0 by Burnley on the opening weekend of the new season, and on Saturday, they narrowly fell short to Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp saw his side come away with a 2-1 win after Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino scored. Danny Ings netted a consolation goal for Southampton against his former club in the closing stages.

Next up for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men is a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion, who have been in solid form so far, winning once and drawing once in their opening two outings.

Southampton’s current league position is rather gloomy, but on Saturday, some players caught the eye with impressive performances.
