Sky Sports have claimed that the player who Southampton are pursuing a last-gasp deal for is Augsburg youngster Kevin Danso.
Having submitted a deal sheet, extending the deadline for confirmation of transfers until 7:00 PM, it seems Saints are pushing hard to secure a deal for a centre-back, as per The Telegraph’s Jeremy Wilson.

Danso appears to be the mystery man who has been targeted by Ralph Hasenhuttl. German news outlet Kicker, as per Lars Pollmann, also claim that the Augsburg man will move to an ‘unnamed Premier League club’ today.

Saints fans have cried out for incoming activity all day, and it seems Danso could be a surprise arrival if the deal can be done in time.
The 20-year-old came through the youth ranks at MK Dons before securing a move to Germany, where he has since established himself as a promising player.
Danso is capable of operating both in central defence and in a holding role, indicating that he could be a perfect player to fill in two arguably weaker areas of Southampton’s squad.
Strong in the tackle and confident on the ball, the Augsburg man appears to be in line with our philosophy. He is young, has the potential to become a hugely impressive player, and is ready to take the next step in his career.
Danso is already an established international for the Austria Under-21 team but has also featured for the senior side. Whether or not Hasenhuttl will link up with his compatriot is uncertain, but a possible deal for the youngster does appear to be on the cards…
