Danny Ings ruled out of clash with Manchester United
Southampton have been handed an injury blow with Danny Ings set to miss out against Manchester United, having not yet recovered from a thigh injury.
The Saints striker had been in great form before picking up the injury against Watford, with the knock keeping him out of Saints last few games.
Speaking ahead of the clash with the Red Devils at the weekend, Mark Hughes revealed that Ings had not yet recovered from his injury, so will be a doubt for the weekend’s clash.
The Welshman told reporters ahead of the game:
We’re still missing Danny [Ings], we hoped to get him back on the grass at some point this week but it hasn’t been possible. We’re hopeful that the games next week. He’ll become an option again.
Saints are on a dismal run of form, and could do with the former Liverpool man returning to the lineup.
Mark Hughes’ side were dumped out of the Carabao Cup in midweek, narrowly losing on penalties to Leicester City.
