Fulham are pushing to complete a permanent move for Southampton defender Matt Targett, according to the Daily Star.
The young left-back joined Fulham in the January transfer window midway through last season and enjoyed an impressive spell at the club, featuring regularly in Slavisa Jokanovic’s side.
Targett helped Fulham as they secured promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs, establishing himself as a key man for the Whites.

The Saints academy graduate is understood to be open to the idea of remaining at Craven Cottage for the foreseeable future, with the player claiming earlier in the season that he had received no contact from Southampton since his departure.
Saints are well-stocked with left-back options but all three of their players in this position have been linked with a move away. Ryan Bertrand could leave this summer, while Sam McQueen is also rumoured to be on the verge of joining Bristol City to come in as Joe Bryan’s replacement.
Targett’s future is seemingly uncertain, but Fulham will evidently be doing all they can to recruit the youngster on a permanent basis.
