After a very underwhelming season, I feel there are several areas that Southampton need to improve in if they are to progress next season, and try and get back to the level we have previously been at.
Saints finished 17th in the Premier League, finishing three points above the relegation zone in a tight finale at the bottom of the top-flight.
But since Mark Hughes came in for the sacked Mauricio Pellegrino, I felt like we looked a lot more positive and willing to attack teams, which helped us pick up some crucial points.

Also, Hughes’ style and formation worked quite well, which is something we can hope to see more of next season.
Our squad has massive potential to be a very strong side in the Premier League but I feel it needs to be managed correctly. With the right additions over the summer, we can try and get back to where we have been in previous seasons.
Here are some areas I think we need to improve in for next season…
