Should I stay or should I go?

Last season was a highly discussed one, with plenty of points to debate on, mainly because of the noticeable change in playing mentality and, mostly, in results.

Claude Puel’s side failed to replicate the exciting, attacking football which we admired under Mauricio Pochettino and Ronald Koeman, disappointing many Saints fans, including myself.

Unfortunately those who were affected the most by Puel’s debatable rotation and turnover policy were the players themselves, with some of them even publicly expressing their dissatisfaction to the media, as Dusan Tadic did. He’s one who certainly hasn’t enjoyed the most successful of campaigns under the Frenchman.

On the other side, Puel’s selecting methods have certainly underlined the weaknesses of the Saints squad, which needs to be fixed in some areas in which we have been lacklustre this season.

Mauricio Pellegrino certainly has some work to do with his squad.

Let’s now take a look at some under-performing players which need to stay and some who should depart in order to let the club grow successfully.
