Tadic’s move to Southampton under inspection

According to the Daily Mirror, Dusan Tadic’s move to Southampton from Dutch side FC Twente is being scrutinised by investigators of his former club regarding potential faults in the deal.

Tadic was Southampton’s first signing in their turbulent summer of 2014, brought in from the Eredivise outfit for a sizable fee in the region of £10.9 million on a four-year deal with the club.

However, details of the transfer have been closely analysed in recent days after it was revealed that Twente’s new financial director Onno Jacobs was able to clearly see unfamiliarities and inexplicable parts of the deal regarding the money stream surrounding Tadic’s move to St Mary’s.

Twente’s chief executive Marcel Wendrich had this to say regarding the situation over Tadic’s transfer saga:

We have given all power to the new investigators. We want everything out in the open now. And we will then consider what action will follow.

Despite the concern around the deal for Tadic, it is clear that Southampton had no way of knowing that there were added complications to the acquisition of the Serbian international, meaning that Ronald Koeman and his board did not do anything wrong throughout the transfer negotiations.

Allegedly, the 27-year-old’s agent Zoran Pavolvic received an excessive amount of commission from the transfer, raising concerns among the Twente board regarding what part Pavolvic played throughout the course of this transfer.

Tadic has been in impressive form for Southampton this season, scoring two goals from his last two games; both from the bench.
